Airbrush
Workshops
The "Mist" tique
and Technique"© Airbrush Makeup Art Workshops
The airbrush is an important tool that belongs in the makeup skill set of all media makeup artists. Thanks in part to High Definition
technology in television taping and broadcast
the airbrush is frequently used for this
venue to achieve ultra natural looking makeup results. For High Definition makeup work the airbrush offers that extra degree of transparency in
makeup application not achieved by traditional brush or
sponge methods.
Because of the techology and technique in airbrush application taught exclusively in these classes that is not found anywhere else, we've had a diverse group
of airbrush enthusiasts from all over the world attending
these workshops. For nearly 2 decades we have instructed makeup artists, traditional face and body painters,
moulage artists, fine art artists, photographers, decorators,
bakers, medical practitioners, anaplastologists, and hobbyists from many forms of leisure and professional trade activities.
With proper instruction, anyone can master the important schematics and operation principles,
and basic and advanced application
techniques in freehand by attending these workshops. Upon completion of the class the student can
immediately employ the airbrush in their venue of interest successfully. Another unique feature of this workshop is the attention to detail in instruction that deals with maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the airbrush yourself.
There are many airbrush videos, CDs, and books available
that attempt to teach airbrushing techniques, but it just
can't duplicate interactive hands-on instruction, demonstration,
and application in a workshop situation under the tutelage
and close supervision of an experienced master instructor.
It is so important to develop and execute proper fundamental
triggering sequences in the very beginning to avoid developing
the default habits that could hinder advanced techniques
in freehand skills, especially if you pursue fine art application.
By taking this professionally instructed class, you can
unleash your full potential with this unique tool and master
all the schematics and techniques in fundamental applications in just one day with the Elementary Workshop. Taking the second day Progressive workshop will develop and refine your
freehand techniques in a variety of applications, learn all about airbrush fluid chemistry, (and
how you can make your own products) and become a master mechanic in airbrush maintenance.
The key to getting the maximum benefit
out of learning and utilizing the airbrush is getting the
precise instruction and hands on experience that embraces
the entire realm of airbrush technology and technique for the student. This means comprehending
and interfacing with the huge variety and scope of airbrush equipment and products
that are available on the market today.
This class is heavy in hands-on laboratory
work which is crucial in properly developing and executing the
8 important fundamental "drills for skills" that is vital to a full airbrush skill set. You
will learn to identify equipment schematics, work with and
interface with ALL THE MAJOR BRANDS of airbrush machinery provided for your use in the workshop, and apply the principles
of fluid physics and chemistry correctly.
These classes are ideal for beginners with no prior experience,
or those with some casual familiarity and experimentation.
Self-taught airbrush users who have performance skills from
practicing on their own can greatly benefit from professional
instruction and oversight in further developing and refining
their techniques in application. The benefits of developing
good professional airbrush skills and polishing dexterity
early on prevents interference from negative or defaulting
habits that always occur in the beginning stages of airbrush
"brain to hand" patterning and coordination.

Elementary Airbrush Workshop:
This
class is technology and technique intensive, and a step by step course
that leads you through the important formatting of ALL airbrush
equipment components, schematics, and operation principles. Also the student will build a
strong skill set in airbrush pigment/fluid
chemistry knowledge, flow ratios, and application fundamentals through an extensive
hands-on laboratory experience in building skill proficiency.
This is not a BRAND ENDORSED or "BUY ME " seminar
where a particular product line will be exclusively featured,
but honest and straight forward instruction on the entire
industry of airbrush equipment and supplies available, and
how to select and customize their features to create your
own professional or personal system to use. Most importantly, students will
also become experienced and adept in critical airbrush maintenance,
identify and correct common performance problems, and perform
troubleshooting and repairs not found in any other airbrush class being taught today.
This workshop will give you everything you need to achieve
a fully operational skill with proficiency in both two dimension
and three dimensional substrates (canvas AND skin) upon
completion of this workshop session, and high functioning knowledge
in airbrush performance continuity and maintenance. This
class is strictly limited to 6 students only for maximum
attention to details and close oversight to student performance.

Progressive Airbrush Workshop:
For those wanting to move ahead with their newly acquired
freehand skills and application techniques from the Elementary Workshop, this second day class focuses entirely on
detailed and creative work in an all day laboratory.
Using the knowlege and layering techniques learned in the Elementary
class, we further expand on the development of artistic
composition by applying some advanced techniques in a variety
of applications. Color theory mechanics (saturation, layering,
blending, etc.) will also be integrated into your renderings
as your own creative styling and artistic sense emerges
while you polish your skills in technique. Additional fluid
chemistry methods will also be demonstrated and integrated
into student’s knowledge and skill base.
Students will also acquire advanced internal airbrush maintenance
techniques and become master mechanics in airbrush equipment
repair, comprehensive knowledge of all replacement parts,
and additional in-depth troubleshooting procedures.
This class is strictly limited to 6 students only for maximum
attention to details and close oversight to student performance.
Both of these workshops are intensive, hands-on, full
day (9 hour minimum) courses and intended to provide uniform
skill building with continuity in progression. This is the
only airbrush makeup workshop in the country that was curriculum
approved and endorsed by the International Federation of
Airbrush Artists (formerly the American Airbrush Association)
and it has been a privilege to instruct students from around
the world in these workshops.
